Announcing storyline in Microsoft Teams
I’m thrilled to share the news that we’re integrating storyline into Microsoft Teams! Storyline enables leaders to reach and engage their audience across Teams, Outlook, and Engage; and enables everyone to share updates, perspectives, and ideas with followers and coworkers across your organization.
Landing in early 2025 for all Microsoft 365 commercial customers (leader & audience features for Viva customers).
Two years after the general availability of storyline in Viva Engage, we've seen tremendous adoption from both leaders and communicators as well as information workers and FLWs. Bringing storyline into Teams as a native feature will unlock storyline's superpowers for communication and connection to the hundreds of millions of Teams customers.
Importantly, storyline in Teams is the same feature as Engage. What you share on your storyline from either, shows up in both. This is an integration, not a replacement or a duplicate feature.
We also signaled in our blog post that community integration and much more is coming. Importantly, Engage is not going away--it will remain offering web, desktop, and mobile apps, and store apps ("metaOS") for Outlook and Teams. But we're bringing the products closer together in Teams, so that Teams customers can leverage the superpowers of Engage for communicating, engaging employees, and sharing knowledge at scale. This is nothing but a small step for storyline toward a giant leap for Engage and Teams customers. We've got so much coming in 2025, I'm giddy! Can't wait to share the new and the journey with you!
